Shadow Over Mystara (Arcade Game) Review By Mike Matei

If you have been living under a rock, you may not know who Mike Matei is. Cinemassacre is the home of James ”The Angry Video Game Nerd” Rolfe and his friend, Mike Matei. These guests often provide additional commentary on the games, mock the Nerd's anguish, and act as parodies of the characters from which they had been derived. James Rolfe, being the movie fan that he is used practical effects for pretty much the whole movie and only seems to turn to CG when it is really needed.

The one thing I really like about your videos Mike, are the tips and hints you give. Yet the one I enjoyed the most revolved around James Rolfe and Mike Matei of Cinemassacre as they celebrated the 10th Anniversary of Cinemassacre. And I've play a lot of crap games.

After being convinced to carry on the series with Who Framed Roger Rabbit and the original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles game on NES, the series began to gain steam. Matei appeared as a playable character in 2013's The Angry Video Game Nerd Adventures He wields a red lightsaber and has the ability to see through blocks hiding items that will assist the play such as health.

It seems like gamers don't know much about Mike, aside from your videos, though, so tell us a little bit about yourself. I played A Link Between Worlds for the 3DS and beat it. It's one of the best games Nintendo has made in Mike Matei the last decade and one of the best Zelda games ever made.

The same way kids of the 80's grew up with the NES, we also all grew up around board games. When I played that game, it was the first time since probably A Link to the Past where I felt like I was playing a proper Zelda title. The Nerd couldn't get over the fact that there's a typo in an NES game.

Matei most notably works on Rolfe's famous Internet series The Angry Video Game Nerd , for which he co-writes, plays a variety of characters ( Jason Voorhees , The Cowardly Lion , The Joker , Leatherface , Bugs Bunny , a Klingon , Michael Myers , etc.), and illustrated the title cards for episodes 5-100 as well as 139.

The AVGN discusses the confusing timeline of The Legend of Zelda series. Mike Matei's initial role for Angry Video Game Nerd: The Movie did not involve production on the film itself. With collaboration from his friend Mike Matei, Rolfe put the Angry Nintendo Nerd videos on his website, , in 2004.

Ass-to-mouth Matei tries to defend the honor of autistic children across the globe one last time, but in the end, machine triumphs over man, as Gadget sneakily uses his middle finger laser to kill Mike with effects that George Lucas is regretting that he didn't cram into the Star Wars prequels.

For Cinemassacre, I edit Monster Madness , which is 31 reviews in the month of October. Although Zelda was the overall theme of the interview, I could tell that Mike genuinely loves gaming in general. The AVGN reviews Tiger Electronics LCD games, Tiger Electronics wrist games, , and R-Zone.
